BIOGRAPHY
MADELYNNE CORNISH, is a sound artist, filmmaker, researcher, and curator based in Bogong Village, North East Victoria. Their work explores the effects of climate on both natural and built environments and the impact of human activity on the natural world. She investigates how sonic and visual elements shape our understanding of landscapes and ecological change through immersive installations, field recordings, moving images, and composition.
Using advanced audio technologies, Cornish documents and interprets environmental shifts and human influences in remote landscapes, deepening our understanding of ecological conditions. Their fieldwork spans regions such as the Kimberley in Western Australia, Finland, and the Victorian High Plains. Cornish's site-responsive works blend multi-channel sound, field recordings, and video, transforming sensory experiences into tools for ecological inquiry. Her practice challenges conventional perceptions of landscape, inviting reflection on the interconnectedness of biodiversity, land use, and climate. |
